Cohabitation
Cohabitation is on the advance, everywhere from high school students to college students to adults. The definition of cohabitation here means people of the opposite sex living together or sleeping together on a regular basis, sharing sex and sharing in many ways the expenses of life. Studies have found, that somewhere in-between 30 and 40% of college students are cohabiting at any given time. (Martin) Many young adults today are opting to live with their significant others thinking of it as a "trial marriage." What they don't know is that it can only hurt the chances of a successful marriage in the future.
Here are some quick figures as a background before the four types of relationship are explained. Only one couple in five who cohabitate ever ends up getting married. (Cohabiting: A Road To Divorce) This is really ironic because when they study college females who are cohabiting, they will find the common responses is that it is a "trial marriage." 75% of females really believe they are going to marry the guy. They will tell you, "Well we're different," "We're going to get married," and "We love each other...
