The Rookie
I chose the film "The Rookie" staring Dennis Quaid. The movie is a true story about a man named Jim Morris, a father, a teacher and a high school baseball coach. When he was younger and had his shot playing baseball, he blew out his shoulder and retired with out ever making it to the major leagues. Like any other person he moved in with his life. Jim got married had kids, became science teacher and started to coach the baseball team. He stated the baseball team three years before, since it was his passion and the town had no baseball program. For the past three year they won one game each season. While coaching his perpetually losing high school team, he makes a deal with them that if they start winning then he would go try out for the major leagues. The high school team went from worst to first winning the district championship. Jim had to keep his promise to try out for the major leagues...
