Philosophy in Early Greece
Philosophy in Early Greece was a time when people started to rationalize whether to believe in traditional religion and the gods, or not. Certain key philosophers would start to develop their own method of thinking, and exploration of nature. They would eventually create schools, or speak in open forums to teach their different methods of thinking. Philosophical thinking has helped development of how things work.
The first school to evolve was the Materialists. Materialists were known for believing that one, or more of the following elements developed the earth - fire, water, air, and earth. Thales was a part of this schooling, and he taught that water alone had naturally developed the world, instead of a god, or gods. He also wanted to invoke free discussion, and spoke openly in public places. Doing so cut into the belief of knowledge only being for toe elite, and allowed all to gain intellectual thinking.
A philosophy that was based on the philosopher Pythagoras of Samos was to lead pure, devout lives...
