Abstract Being a professional in the human service work field can be very rewarding and challenging. They are put under a lot of pressure when working in that field. As a result of all the pressure of the job it may lead to burnout which is a syndrome that can result in poor work performance or a decision to leave that profession. As burnout effects the human service professional, ethical issues arise as these professionals interact with their clients and coworkers in less than positive ways (Woodside & McClam 2002). BO3 Ms. Bailey talks about the time when she was encapsulated or had burnout as a worker in the text book. Ms. Bailey listened carefully to her clients and with great concern, after that she asked them to conform to the social norms. Ms. Bailey did not notice is that many people who are seeking help are not part of traditional cultures.
