The famous writer Laurie Halse Anderson grew up in Syracuse, New York and was born in 1961. Her father had a type writing machine and Laurie would love to sit on the floor and draw.
When she was little Laurie would pretend to be a polar bear walking to school. During the year of second grade Laurie's teacher taught her all about haiku poems, from her point of view that was the time when she fell in love with writing. Lauries favorite book is the dictionary, since she is a terrible speller.
In her senior year she moved to Denmark and lived in a pig farm. Once you hear pig farm you might think to yourself: " How boring" Surprisingly though, she said it was a wonderfull place, and had a wonderfull time. Already in the United States of America she started college at Onondonga Community University, later she decided to transfer to Georgetown University. There, she earned a degree in languages and linguistics. Lauries first job was at a local newspaper, and later worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer...
