Cutting Gym Class
400,000 deaths in the year 2000 were related to lack of exercise and poor nutrition, according to Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson(fact). This is a pathetic amount of preventable deaths. Many high schools in the U.S. do not require a mandatory Physical education class. This causes a lot of controversy across the United States. Many people feel it physical education takes away from more important classes. Other people feel we have too many overweight kids in this great country, and high schools need to change.
