How does airport security differ from one airport to another and what should be done, or can be done to make it more uniform? What are the repercussions? Today in the post 9/11 world, everyone's major focus has turned toward how to ensure and secure the safety and well being of their citizens. Indeed as Americans our ideas and concerns about safety basically centered around, are my doors locked? Or did, I switch my car alarm on? For many years, while a large part of the world lived with daily threats to their safety and security we, as Americans relied on our military, our police, or whomever else wanted to concern themselves with making it easier for us to walk safely down the streets. However, after the destruction of the World Trade Center Towers, The Pentagon and a downed airplane in Pennsylvania, security has catapulted its way into the forefront of everyone's mind. Nowhere is the idea of protection more prevalent than at the nations airports. Because the terrorists' weapon of choice was an airplane we have doubled, tripled and in fact revamped the way in which we handle the issue of security at our nations many airports. This new protection comes in many forms and strategies and the one fact that is not in dispute is that old practices and beliefs about security must be updated, or has it?..
