The tropical rainforest biome is categorized into a certain biome because of its specific characteristics. Tropical rainforests have certain climates, plants, and animals that make the biome unique to others. This biome is classified as an "Af" rainforest. The "A" is given to tropical climates that are moist for all months and which have an average temperature of above 18 degrees Celsius. The "F" stands for sufficient precipitation for twelve months of the year. The tropical rainforest is defined as a forest surrounded by tall trees and has warmth twelve months of the year. It is very humid, mostly because of the rainfall, which averages to more than 150 cm per year. In only one month, the tropical rainforest receives over four inches of rainfall. The latitude range for rainforest climate is 15 to 25 North and South of the equator.
