There are two sports that at one point in their history were called the same. Football is one of the most popular American sports, attracting thousands of participants and millions of spectators annually. The other one is football soccer sports well known in Europe, Asia, and South America. Many sports fan from both sports easily can claim that football and soccer don't have much in common; however, history tells us that American football was born from soccer in the 19 century, giving these two games many similarities like the number of players on the field, the origins of both games and the fervor both games bring to its fans.
Even though these two sports came from the same origin, there are some clear differences. One of them is the change football underwent on how the ball is played. In football the ball is passed, or carried by hand while in soccer the ball is played always with any body part but the hands. Football is characterized by its roughness and requires players to wear protective padding covering the thighs, hips, shoulders, knees, and often the forearms. Players also wear plastic helmets with guards that cover most of the face. In contrast soccer players only protection is shin guards...
