Urban Sprawl
Urban sprawl is a problem that most people recognize. Environmentalists call it a disease that rapidly spreads outwards taking over everything in its path. Developers and real estate investors call it a necessity that is the American Dream.
With roughly 80% of the United States, population living in metropolitan area's urban sprawl has an effect on most people. ("State") Even though urban sprawl is a problem that most people recognize, very few are willing to do anything about it. Even fewer are willing to give up their own piece of Americana to become a part of the solution.
Urban sprawl is a problem that is present in our own community. We do not have to travel to Atlanta to witness first hand the effect of urban sprawl. We see increased driving times farmland and wooded areas lost to the development of neighborhoods and the outward growth of the population over a large area.
With all the negative perceptions of urban sprawl, there are good points to it...
