Random Drug Testing: Moral or Immoral?
The issue of random drug testing in athletics has been a rising question. Some people think that it is immoral to test randomly, while others think its fine and should be done. Random drug testing is done before a sporting event, the athlete signs a form, and then tests with in s certain time. If the athlete refuses to take the test they are perceived as testing positive. Steroids and other stimulant drugs have been widely, but indiscretely used in most sports. Experts believe that more than fifty percent of athletes in the Olympics have used banned drugs. According to Don Nardo, 73% of Americans favor testing and 27% oppose random testing (Nardo 84).
