Competition is ultimatley more beneficial than detrimental to society.Competition gives a person or a nation motivation to work harder towards his goal.If there was no competition there would have not been such a tremendous growth in any perspective of life.For the growth and development of society and each individual competition is necessary.
Competition is basically comparison between two or many of the same kind. It is on one's own prospect how he looks at it.Whether to have a negative impact of it on oneself or have an optimistic viewpoint depends entirely on an individual.For example a businessman who owns a shop of electronic goods in a shopping complex where there are more stores of the same goods, he might have to keep himself well informed of the latest gadgets in electronics otherwise in some time he will start loosing his customers and eventually will run down of his business.
Also during the childhood period of education, a child come across other peers and friends who get better grades then him.He might then experience a certain feeling of comparision which if taken care of and worked upon can make him do beeter in his field or if not tackled properly will leave him disappointed and with unwillingness to work hard...
