Gun's N Roses: Not an Illusion of Greatness
The worlds most outrageous and finest rock band on the planet, LA's favorite bad boys, the so called new Rolling Stones, The worlds greatest rock phenomenon, if you heard me make those statements what band would come to mind? Aerosmith, Queen, Black Sabbath, or maybe even Led Zeppelin may be a thought. No we are talking about Gun's N Roses. Many people would probably argue with me in making a statement that Gun's N Roses is the greatest rock band of all time. Many say that there are a lot of other rock bands that are just as good if not better than Guns N Roses, such as Aerosmith, Queen, Metallica or Led Zeppelin. According to former Geffen records executive Del James, "Gun's N Roses could have become the next Led Zeppelin if their egos had not gotten in the way." Just think about it they had the talented person who was named best lead guitarist of the year for 3 years straight, in Saul Hudson or better known as Slash, and one of the greatest lead singers of all times in W. Axl Rose. Just look at some of these quotes from some of music's greatest publications, "Gun's N Roses now stand alone as the finest rock band on the planet" Metal Hammer, February 1988, "The greatest rock N Roll band in the world" Raw December 1988. I think Kerrang magazine says it best in their June 1988 issue with this statement "They don't look good, they're not pretty; but their music can be beautiful, and heavy at the same time...
