A loud crack! Suddenly your car begins to shake! Were you just the victim of a heinous act of violence? A drive-by? Thankfully no, it's just a flat tire. People everywhere fall prey to this common accident and yet very few know how to handle themselves in this situation. By having the right tools available, and following a few easy steps, anyone can change a tire and be back on the road with very little effort, and no tow truck.
The first and most important step is to get safely off of the road. Keeping both hands firmly on the steering wheel, reduce speed as you pull into a safe area. If you are in town this may be into a parking lot or a gas station, but if you are on the highway you will need to pull far enough off the road that you do not endanger yourself or other drivers...
