Agent Orange; The Silent Killer
The Vietnam War Era was a time of immense changes. Changes in politics and culture occurred. Such events like peace protests, and civil rights and Women liberation were examples of these changes. While, events like these shaped the home front, young men were fighting for their country. And some of these men are still fighting today. They are now fighting not for their countries, but rather for their lives. I know this battle for live is occurring as we speak, for my own uncle, Howard Oliver was blinded by Agent Orange while serving in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
Agent Orange was an herbicide used in Vietnam to kill unwanted plants and to remove leaves from trees that otherwise provided cover for the enemy. The name "Agent Orange," came from the orange stripe on the 55-gallon drums in which it was stored. Other herbicides were used, including Agent White and Agent Blue was also used in Vietnam to a much lesser extent...
