I learned that not only does this chapter teaches about the different types of systems and levels in a company, but it explains it with examples of each one and how it applies to the work force and life. I also found it useful how this book shows its' readers the steps they must forego to reach a goal and/or achieve placement or not become extinct.
The information I found least useful was located on page 24 of chapter one: ESSENTIAL MANAGERIAL SKILLS. The skills listed are what I may call; "a given answer." Such as human, technical and conceptual skills along with emotional intelligence are with out a doubt needed assets of mgmt., but that is something one may know by simply having a common sense. The section I found most useful would be SKILL AND OUTCOME ASSESMENT. I found this most useful and informative. I can see how a company can be very interested in developing its' employees' managerial competency to get a higher performance level, for when that employee reaches a mgmt. position within the company...
