The patriot Act
On September 11, 2001 thousands of lives were lost as a result of the terrorist acts done to the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. ... The Patriot act was passed just forty five days after the September 11, when there was immense fear of following terrorist attacks. ... It seems that the Patriot Act and Bush’s war on terriorism isn’t working, yet individuals are still sacrificing their rights.
The Patriot act is unconstutional and must be removed. Primarily, the Patriot Act is a violation of the first amendment, which guarantees freedom of speech press, religion and peaceful assembly (US Constituion). The Act expands surveillance powers of federal bureau of Investigation, and allows FBI to monitor phone calls, electronic mail, websites and online purchases (ACLU). ... The Patriot Act gives government the right to abuse their authority. ... The Patriot act sets a new standard for domestic terrorists, which includes anyone who influences government by intimation or corresion (ACLU). ... The Patriot Act also infringes upon the beliefs of the Fourth Amendment.
