Drug Trafficking in the United States
Drug trafficking in the United States has become a major industry over the years because of the enormous opportunity for quick capital gain, power and the thrill. The oversized task of regulating drug trafficking is shared by many organizations such as the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Customs, the Central Intelligence Agency, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, and local police departments. Investigations usually require the aid of many different organizations in solving the crimes. Many people travel through the United States border daily and occasionally those people are smuggling illegal drugs. The majority of the drugs that are used in the U.S. such as: marijuana, cocaine and heroin are imported from foreign countries like: Columbia, Afghanistan, Tijuana and British Columbia.
