Active Directory Architecture as stated has two structures the logical and the physical. This paper will try to address the features of each. This won't be a compare and contrast, but more of a definition of each, as I found them, my expertise in this matter isn't the strongest but my humble opinion is as follows in the subsequent paragraphs.
Active directory is the tool which stores the network information and manages the service offered in the Windows operating systems. The way this is done or setup is defined bye the administrator. They can use many different ways to set up the domains, however mirroring your organizations setup is recommended as it simplifies the management of the systems. There are many ways to accomplish this logical structure, from domain hierarchy, DDN, DNS, Trees and Forests, to Objects. We can't examine every piece of this structure so let us look at one specifically, DNS Name Servers/Zones.
