The Chief Information Officer has many responsibilities and functions in
Corporation, he brings to the table knowledge of computer technology.
CIO plays a vital part in any corporation or company. They must have a partnership relationship with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and the Chief Financial Officer. CIO must earn the respect and trust of the executive management team, so he/she can develop the information technology organization to effectively develop IT strategies and implement them. The CIO expand the operating unit's IT plans, polices, and procedures along with the top management team and other members of the operating units. They will have influence over anything related to IT in the operating unit. The CIO should manage it as an asset with clean performance measure for monitoring progress. The CIO will be accountable for the IT budget of the operating unit. He/She should devise and implement the IT budget along with the organization financial planners.
