Frame Plaid and floral fabrics (we used Rosalinda Plaid and Rosalinda Blomma from IKEA) Ribbon, trim and embroidery floss (we used 2"-wide ribbon, blue chenille rickrack and green and fuchsia embroidery floss) Variety of coordinating buttons, beads, sequins, jewelry, etc. Foam-core board Craft knife Straight edge Fusible medium-weight interfacing Iron Fusible tape Embroidery needle Hot glue gun Needle and sewing thread Double-stick tape Batting (optional)
1. Select a frame. Gather materials and plan color scheme and general placement of fabric, ribbons and trims.
2. Use a craft knife and straight edge to cut a piece of foam-core board to fit into the frame. This provides support for the finished collage. Set board aside.
3. For the collage's background, cut a plaid fabric piece large enough to cover board, plus extra to wrap to the back...
