Nature of Situation
In June of 1991, Fabtek, a company focused mainly on titanium fabrication, was dealing with a situation that had not occurred in the company’s 15 year history. Fabtek’s bookings exceeded its capacity by a significant margin which was drastically negatively impacting their ability to meet delivery dates and therefore also decreasing customer satisfaction.
Decision to be Made
In order to address their capacity issues Fabtek had to analyze the following:
