Drugs are chemicals that change the way our bodies work. They become illegal when taken in excessive dosages that can cause mood altering effects in which the senses of the human being become impaired. Although some drugs have medical uses the majority are used for recreational purposes. These illicit drugs can be classified into three main types, namely, depressants, stimulants and hallucinogens. Permanent damage or even death may result if these drugs are abused. Illegal drugs are detrimental to a person's health and well being and can affect the body and mind in many ways such as impairing coordination, slowing reaction times, hallucinations and generally causing that person to behave in an abnormal manner. They should never be abused. However they are and thus each country should have measures in place to correct or eliminate such situations.
