The Norfolk Soccer Club, Inc., in partnership with the American Youth Soccer Association (AYSO), is undertaking a project that will benefit hundreds of youth in the area. Land was recently donated to the Norfolk Soccer Club so the community of Norfolk would have what so many other communities already have a youth soccer complex. A capital campaign has recently begun to raise funds to build a competition soccer complex for youth. We are aware of Omaha World Herald's Foundation's commitment to supporting projects for children and think this project may be of interest to you.
As you may know, soccer is the most popular team sport in the world. It is a sport that both girls and boys can participate in it develops agility, stamina, teamwork, and sportsmanship. It also provides an avenue to bring children of different races and cultures together. Nebraska currently has over 23,000 young people playing competitive soccer and thousands more playing organized recreational soccer.
