When the topic was brought up, I didn't even know that there was such a thing as creation day and creation time. I have learned a lot from the discussion, one of them is that during this time, we should be aware of our responsibility as stewards of God's creation. Creation day is celebrated on September 1 while creation time is celebrated on October 4 or the second Sunday of October. Dimitrios, the First chose September 1 as the Creation Day because it's the start of a New Year, the Liturgical Year, which is the first Sunday of Advent after Christ the King. High officials of the Church chose October 4 because it is the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, who is the patron saint of ecologists, or the second Sunday of October because it coincides with the Tribal Filipino Sunday (TFS) or often called the Indigenous People's Sunday. During these times, people practice sustainability. It's when tribal people show their respect towards nature or the "spirits", they believe in the give and take relationships or in mutualism. They believe that when they ask for something, gratitude must be given back. The tribal Filipinos are simple, teeming with life and environmentally friendly.
