Often times I close my eyes and envision the day in which I will become a college graduate. The graduation march sounding, the smiles on my proud parents' faces, and the diploma in hand completes the picture. However, when the sun rises and sets that day, I will be left with a diploma in the chosen field of my choice--nursing. Presently, nursing is one of the oldest and best known health professions in the medical field. By obtaining the qualities for success in this particular field, I feel that it will allow me to take advantage of the many opportunities and benefits that the career has to offer.
So what exactly are the qualities that one should have in order to succeed as a nurse? I consider the most important quality to be communication. Nurses should be able to communicate effectively in order to give their patients the best possible care. It is also necessary to communicate well with the family of patients.
