Hello Mr Lee, and fellow class mates.
Today I am doing a speech on the topic of
"Today's teens have it tougher then in the past."
I think it is very hard to decide what way to go with in this argument seeing as it is impossible to actually compare the two situations.
but I will tell you the positive and negative points of both sides of the agenda.
In the past teenagers living in this area, would be subject to a fair amount more physical labour then the teens of today.
Like on farms, their parents would get them to work for little or no pay and if they didn't they could be physically punished with not much they could do about it.
But today, child abuse is seen as very serious and some teens wouldn't think twice about putting their own parents up for charges of child abuse.
What makes it even harder to decide whether the past or present teens have it tougher is the fact that the hardships of the generations are so different from each other.
The teens of yester year had to do manual labour to help their parents, which is a physical stress on them.
Today's teens, have a very high amount of stress placed on us for school, jobs, sex, friends, peer pressure, who we are, what we can and can't do and deciding what we will be in the future, before we even know what we are today...
