Pride and Prejudice, is similar to many other works by Jane Austen, written in a gentle, satirical manner that criticizes the mercenary of ignorance of the contemporary (18th century) people. The story starts with the arrival of a wealthy man, Mr. Bingley and his friend Mr. Darcy. This brought the attention of surrounding neighborhoods, and that includes Mrs. Bennet, a foolish woman who talks too much and is obsess with getting her daughters married. The main subject of this novel is stated in the first sentence of the novel: "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” In this statement the author cleverly declared the main theme to be courtship and marriage.
