Transfomations Emmma Clueless

Through the discussion of my topic I will comment on Josh's reformation of Cher. I will also describe to you how the context of both clueless written and directed by Amy Heckerling and Emma written by Jane Austen influence the reformation process.
Emma was written in 1816 by Jane Austen who lived in England. During this time in England social position was important which is demonstrated throughout the novel and is first seen in the first sentence of the first chapter.
"Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever and Rich."
Emma is in fact part of the Gentile class of English society of the 19th century and while Austen herself belonged to that class her writing shows that she did not agree with all aspects of this society weather it be an idea, institution, an individual or a type of person.
Also during the 19th century society, social status was an immensely important aspect of life and to marry below your social status was conceded to be socially unacceptable.
This can be compared to in clueless where society is comparably different. As this society revolves around the life of a rich teenager who lives in Beverly Hills Los Angeles in the mid to late 90's with the hardest part of the day is picking out what to wear to school.
