First I am going to start with defining each of the words of communication, gender and culture then ill explain why they are intimately interwoven. Looking at the meaning should give an idea what each of these words mean. First we have communication, which is a process in which a person, through the use of signs (natural, universal)/symbols (by human convention), verbally and/or non-verbally, consciously or not consciously but intentionally, conveys meaning to another in order to affect change. Gender is the differences between women and men within the same household and within and between cultures that are socially and culturally constructed and change over time. These differences are reflected in: roles, responsibilities, access to resources, constraints, opportunities, needs, perceptions, views, etc. held by both women and men. Thus, gender is not a synonym for women, gut considers both women and men and their interdependent relationships. Culture is the system of shared beliefs, values, customs, behaviors, and artifacts that the members of society use to cope with their world and with one another, and that are transmitted from generation to generation through learning. These three things are each dependent on each other in certain ways, but without one another it could not determine what the possible use or meaning of it will be referring too.
