The Constitution was put in place to establish our system of government. I chose to fair on the side of Dr. John Vile due to the fact that Levinson did not (in my opinion) create a valid reason to not sign the Constitution. Levinson states that our Constitution is an “iron cage of dysfunctionality”. The United States Constitution has proven itself over the past 200 years to be the most solid and open form of government. As countries have ratified new Constitutions they almost always, without fail, emulated our own. Levinson states that he cannot support the current Constitution due to the fact that it has a “rigidly fixed terms of presidential office." When President Roosevelt was in office he won four terms as president and this is the reason whey we have the 22nd Amendment. This also is a great amendment because if we end up getting a real adverse person for president and that person has held office for two terms, then they can never hold office again. This gives the great mind that is to come an opportunity to lead this great nation. As far as life tenure of federal judges goes, what is wrong with being able to know that you have a job to go to for the rest of your life and the only thing you have to do is behave?
