"In the far distance a helicopter skimmed down between the roofs, hovered for an instant like a bluebottle, and darted away again with a curving flight. It was the Police Patrol, snooping into people's windows." (2) In 1948, George Orwell wrote a book called 1984 which predicted the future. When 1984 came and went, the world was not exactly as Orwell depicted it, however there were many similarities. There were no helicopters looking into people's windows or anything extreme but privacy has definitely become an issue. Some people read Orwell's novel and categorize it as another science fiction book. However, this book is much more than that.
Technology today is wonderful, but in the wrong hands it can be awful. In 1984, George Orwell showed a world where all the people were under control of the government by surveillance. The Thought Police watched people through telescreens, microphones, and helicopters...
