Taking notes in any sort of class can be miserable; I know that you as a student dread the thought of having to take notes. Unbelievably, taking notes does not have to be nearly as bad as what it seems to be. Being prepared for class, dating your notes, and revising your notes are just a few steps that can make note taking easier.
Before class, make sure that you are prepared. You want to have your pen/pencil, chapter outline, and paper. Check the course outline that your professor has handed out to the class, so you will know what the main objectives will be for that day. Reviewing any of your reading assignments can make note taking easier. That way you will have an idea of what the professor is lecturing about and you will be able to follow him or her better. You may also want to read over your notes from the previous day, just in case your professor would happen to ask questions to review. As much as you may hate it, sit near the front of the classroom...
