Now that we have finished reading "King Leopold's Ghost", I am able to analyze the book as a whole. The author, Adam Hochschild, introduces King Leopold as greedy man who will do anything to anyone who stands in his way. Leopold is just a businessman who is determined to get what he wants. "Decades after Leopold's death a curious legend developed into the Congo. The king, it was believed, had not died at all but had come to live in his former colony." (Hochschild, 300)
King Leopold was born in to royalty. (History Wiz) His father was Leopold I, who was the first king of the Belgians. Since he has always had money, land, and power, he was greedy for more power. I think Leopold can be compared to some athletes. He is a competitor that will put in extra work or cheat to be ahead...
