Entertainment rating systems are growing in our society and are being used more and more by parents to screen what type of entertainment their children have access to. There are many different forms of entertainment these days and just as many rating systems to go along with them. Some of which include software rating, movie rating, and the music rating system. Even though these are separate companies rating different aspects of entertainment, they still have a lot of similarities in the way they decide on a rating. A few examples of how these companies would rate something based on its content is to ask a few questions about the product: is there any reference to drugs or alcohol, is this product educational, does the lyrics or language use profanity or suggest the use of illegal substance and/or underage drinking, is there strong sexual content, what about violence, humor, tobacco?
