When the book, Uncle Tom's Cabin was published in 1952, controversy was spread across the nation because of the harsh language and crude facts about the slavery in the south. The author, Harriet Beecher Stowe, wrote the book with only one thing in mind - the sentiment to express her true feelings on slavery. Her writing style is deep with true meaning, leaving anyone who reasds it speechless from discovering the happenings during slavery. Uncle Tom's Cabin has always been and always will be very influential to our country. American politics throughout history have been tremendously influenced by this extraordinary piece or writing.
On June 14, 1811, in Litchfield, Connecticut, Harriet Elizabeth Beecher was born. As a child, she wrote stories and books, even before the age of ten. Growing up believing strongly in feminism, she was able to learn the true meaning behind fairness and equality in the world. As Stowe lived in Cincinnati, she began to write different newspaper articles about abolition in the south.
