In order for me to explain and answer this question, it is of vital importance to explain the key concepts present in the question. These include: insanity and non-insane automatism. I will also determine whether or not these two forms of defence are morally justifiable. Thus, applying these forms of defence using specific examples from cases. I will first deal with the definition and application of the defence of insanity. After this I will move on to define and give the application of the defence of non-insane automatism. While defining and applying these two types of automatism I will give reference to relevant cases.
