Georges Braque
In my essay I am going to be describing the life and looking at what influenced the artist Georges Braque.
Georges was born on May 13th in Argenteuil, a small community on the Seine, near Paris. His father and grandfather were both amateur artists who owned a prosperous house-painting firm. Georges and his family moved to Le Harve in 1890 where Georges accompanied his father on painting expeditions, attended a local public school and became interested in sports, especially boxing. He also learned to play the flute. All this shows he must have been quite rich and wealthy. Braque took a course of fine arts at the Le Harve academy. He left school at 17 for a year of apprenticeship as an interior decorator and house painter, working first in Le Harve then in Paris. During this time he became good at using materials. After a year in military services he decided to become an artist...
