Vatel
Vatel takes place in the late 17th century France, however, as it is portrayed from a culinary perspective, there are many parallels to the modern day. Vatel’s character in the movie was not only a highly skilled culinary artist, but he was a master event organizer. Vatel was responsible for composing dramatic feasts and elaborate parties for Louis XIV’s trip to Chantilly. Understandably, Vatel was under a tremendous amount of pressure to ensure that all of his work was top-notch, this was evident in the way he was constantly tasting all of the food that was being prepared and making sure that all of the entertainment was happening as it was supposed to.
