The One Minute Manager is a book that explains three basic principals that are great to be used in a work environment and everyday life. The three principals are the one minute goals, the one minute praising, the one minute reprimands. The authors believe that these three ideas will help simplify life, increase productivity and reduce stress, to help find peace of mind. The one minute goals, praising and reprimands are all ideas that, if used effectively, can help increase a person's success in life.
One Minute Goals are the main foundation to one minute management. According to "The One Minute Manager" each manager is to set realistic goals for their employees, that are clear and are no longer than 250 words per page. Then there is 80/20 goal setting. The concept of this is that 80% of a persons results, come from 20% of their goals. Each person is to keep copies of the goals so that a manager can check it periodically, and process of the employee can be reviewed.
