Irony is the term used to denote a statement wherein it implies a sort of inconsistency, either between what is spoken and what is intended, or between what is meant and what follows, or what the reader is led to anticipate and what actually materializes. The three main types of irony that can be found are: verbal irony, dramatic irony and irony of situation.

The 2nd type of Irony, which is dramatic in nature, cannot be found in the text, but it is the situation wherein, what the speaker says and what the author wants to show is different.
