Introduction
The Glass Ceiling, according to the text, is the invisible barrier that blocks females and minorities from ascending into upper levels of an organization. All throughout history, white males seem to have been the "leaders" in most all organizations. It took such a long time for females and minorities to emerge into the general workplace and as time goes on, it seems it is taking even longer for this group to move up in the business world into any upper level position. Although it seems as though things are changing little by little, it doesn't seem to be enough. To me, it looks as though companies are doing just enough in order to not get the red flag thrown at them for discrimination. For the females and minorities, however, this is not acceptable. For some, including myself, this glass ceiling poses more of a challenge than anything. It is making some of us more determined and aggressive than ever, while the others are too discouraged to even speak up. This has become such a serious problem that the Glass Ceiling Commission was formed.
