Why Does John Adams defend the British soldiers?
March 5th, 1770, a riot breaks out. Townspeople picking any weapons can they find heading towards the customhouse on King Street. Seven soldiers on duty panic as the crowds draw closer. Rocks are thrown, the mob is screaming names. Confused and nervous the soldiers fired, killing five colonists. This tragic event known as the Boston Massacre is what John Adams is suppose to defend the soldiers from.
When Mr. Forrest comes and begs Mr. Adams to defend Captain Preston and the soldiers he had to think about it...
