3. What is the Napster Case and how did it evolve? In order to understand the Napster Case, one has to understand what Napster is. The concept of Napster began in a college dorm room by freshman Shawn Fanning. Shawn Fanning didn't like the genre of music his roommate listened to, so he came up with the idea of creating a computer music file sharing system so his roommate could be exposed a wider range of musical genre.
