Military History
Hanson describes in his article "The Return of Military History?: Death and renewal of an ancient discipline", how important it is to learn about military history. He describes the way history courses have changed over the years, becoming more focused on culture and society than what is going on with the world's military system. I agree with Hanson in the fact that society's focus needs to be redirected towards the history that can be used positively today. Military history should be a major focus because it is necessary to show that there can't be peace all of the time, that war often fixes problems, and that some aspects of history just aren't that important.
The world is full of problems and they will always be there. There is nothing anyone can do to make people's problems go away or make everyone get along. Although it is important to learn about slavery, racism, and women's rights, some things are more important. Slavery was banned in the U.S...
