This book serves as a sequel to his previous book, It's Not About The Bike; where Lance Armstrong talked about his battling cancer and then going on to win his first Tour de France. Every Second Counts basically picks up where he left off and tells the story of the birth of his children, his winning of the next several Tour de France's, and what life is like for him now. Armstrong talks about how his life has been forever changed: he doesn't take life for granted anymore and literally lives each day to the fullest. His main focus in this novel is his bike riding and the pain and suffering of which it includes (his many injuries, the dispute with the French and the US Postal Team, etc.) He continues to show his strength and determination each and every day, no matter what confronts him.
