"Really the basic themes of The Crucible and of Guilty by Suspicion are the same. To what extent do you agree with this statement?"
The themes in the play "The Crucible" By Arthur Miller are really the same as the themes faced in the movie "Guilty by Suspicion." The main idea is obviously shown in both texts. I believe this issue to be; the pressure of fear and the way it influences people. Many of the characters in both the movie and the play reveal classic character traits which are brought on by these themes. In both texts there are many situations to compare these themes.
The theme I listed was the pressure of fear and the way it influences people's decisions. In the crucible the general fear is of the Devil. The whole of Salem is frightened that fellow citizens of Salem could be associated with the devil and working with him...
