Electroconvulsive Therapy
After much research, I have determined that Electroconvulsive Therapy is a great way to save lives from depression. It has been said that "ECT has a higher success rate than any other treatment". Statistics also show that people would be more than willing to have the therapy again, and that they were very pleased with the results. Depression is an all too common disease among many Americans. With the way technology is evolving, why not use the most substantial, up to date type of machinery. There is the minute percentage of people who do not believe in ECT because of the small chance of memory loss. The short term memory that is sometimes lost during therapy is restored in up to 7 months. There are also headaches, muscle stiffness, and a drop in blood pressure that is related to this therapy. I believe that if a person has a severe case of depression, headaches and muscle spasms are the least of their worries. There are several things that have to be secured in order for this process to work...
