In Indonesia, a country that hated both Americans and Christians, Hope had the courage and boldness to reach out and witness to the Indonesians. Through the most difficult of circumstances and the most frightening situations, Hope had been called by God and He was watching over her.
Ever since Hope was a child, she wanted to do some kind of mission work when she got older. She went on her first mission trip to Mexico with her family when she was eight. She was thrilled about Mexico and wanted to go again. When she was fourteen, Hope went to Brazil for a month during the summer. She returned to Mexico for a whole summer when she was seventeen. She loved mission work so much that she felt that God was leading to be a full time missionary. After high school she started working for the International Mission Board. She explained to them her desire for full-time mission work and they told her of the need in Indonesia...
