Dian Fossey had no idea what she was getting herself intoShe was thrust into an environment full of uncivilized people, unknowing what she would unearth or come across, or for that matter, who she would come across. A nave woman with a will to make it on a journey that no woman or man had ever managed to come even close to completing, Ms. Fossey did.
Ms. Fossey invaded the lives of a primitive culture that was unaware of the opportunities of the outside world. They relied heavily upon the few resources that they had, including the gorillas that Dian Fossey was there to study. Her obsession led to the vast conflict between tribe and woman, culture vs. culture. She attacked their political, religious, and economic system, attempting to lay claim to the gorillas and the mountain as her own.
When Dian Fossey was proclaimed as a "witch" by the Batua tribe of Rwanda, she began to manipulate this to her advantage...
